Tom Burden is a former Air Force mechanic turned entrepreneur after encountering a problem at his job – there wasn’t a good way to hold tools, especially when working on aircraft with a lot of different angles you might have to position yourself on. So he invented Grypmat – a heat-resistant, gripping tool mat that can hold tools at up to angles of 70 degrees. Tom took his idea to Shark Tank, where he was able to close a deal with three sharks to take Grypmat to new heights. Today, Grypmat is used by NASA and hundreds of other teams around the country to manage tools in tricky situations.
